Mint Road sits quietly on Boolimba Crescent in Narrabundah, blending the approachable vibe of a local café with the heartiness of a casual eatery. It’s the kind of spot that often calls to locals looking for a good coffee to start the day or a relaxed lunch without fuss. The atmosphere feels comfortable and welcoming, with a friendly owner who clearly takes pride in the quality they serve.

As a café and coffee shop that doubles as a casual restaurant, Mint Road strikes a balance between serving well-crafted coffee and simple yet satisfying food. The coffee stands out, reportedly some of the best in the area, which draws in regulars who appreciate a strong, thoughtfully prepared espresso-based drink like a flat white or piccolo latte. Pop in on a weekday morning, and you’ll likely find a mix of locals grabbing coffee to go or lingering with a book or laptop in hand.

The menu offers a straightforward range of items—breakfast staples like bacon and egg rolls and eggs with sourdough toast make it a dependable spot to fuel up without pretension. Lunchtime seems to highlight the burger and chips, which have earned praise for being generously portioned and nicely seasoned, serving as a satisfying choice for the informal diner. Milkshakes here get a special mention for their rich texture and authentic flavors, providing a nostalgic splash for anyone in need of a comforting treat.

Mint Road’s charm partly comes from its setting in Narrabundah, a quieter suburb where options like this feel local rather than tourist-focused. The café doesn’t overwhelm with décor but offers enough warmth and a laid-back tone to encourage repeat visits. The owner’s presence behind the counter contributes to a genuine connection with patrons, fostering a sense of community that’s noticeable without being intrusive.

For those who enjoy coffee, simple breakfast or lunch fare, and a low-key environment where staff remember your usual order, Mint Road fits well into everyday routines. Early mornings and weekends are when this place seems to hum quietly, making it a practical stop for casual meals or a relaxing coffee break away from busier hubs.

Great service, coffee and food. A delightful cafe tucked away in Narrabundah. Note that some of these less favourable reviews are about previous owners, not the current owner in 2020/22. Update 13Jul 2023 - finally treated myself to a hamburger and chips. Absolutely delicious

I've eaten at the Mint Rd cafe for a decade now. I have only recently tried it's Mint Rd burger and fries for the first time. Absolutely the best burger & fries I've had in many years! A real stand out!

This is the best coffee in the area I have tried Blackstone, ona, the markets. Only cupping room on the other side is marginally better. My order double shot strong small latte.

I must say that I wasn't expecting a lot from this little cafe at the Narrabunda shops. When the food came out though, I was rather impressed. It was served on artisan style wooden planks. If you like milkshakes then this is a place that won't disappoint. They were thick and flavoursome unlike other places where you might get some flavoured milk. I would definitely go back.
